Question by : Should I tell my parents? 6 days after I sustained a concussion?
Last Friday, I got what the ER nurse referred to as a “mild” concussion, and also sprained my neck, after being rear ended by a drunk driver at 2 pm (I know, crazy, but the guy seems nice enough. He kept calling the insurance company to see if I was okay after he found out I was hurt in the accident, so I don’t resent him for his mistake, really). On the instructions they gave us, it said to “seek immediate emergency medical help” if you feel any unexplained numbness or tingling (or loss of motion). Well, I was fine for the first 3 days, but on Tuesday I experienced some odd tingling in my knee twice, but it only lasted about 30 seconds each time (I experienced it after attending physical therapy for my jaw, where they also worked on my neck) and then went away. I was fine yesterday, but today I experienced a brief, 15 second period, of numbness on my head (where I hit it on the head rest in the car accident) again after physical therapy. Also, during school today (before physical therapy) I experienced a sudden attack of pain on the spot where I hit my head and was very confused. I have also noticed that my blood flow to body parts (you know when your arm etc starts to tingle because of how you sit/lay on it) cuts off a lot easier. Just now I experienced a bit of tingling in my fingers, and now my headaches are beginning to return. Thinking about it, I have felt tingling in my foot, too, and today really weird abdominal pain in my lower right side, but not extreme and not constant. I also still have mild neck and back pain (both of which used to be worse and the injuries were sustained during the accident). The instructions for everything they gave us (neck sprain and concussion) say to visit the doctor if it is not better within a week. I’ve also been having stomach problems, unable to eat over 500 calories for the past three days because of appetite loss, and even before (the three days before these) I had been eating less. I believe I have lost quite a bit of weight, as much as 6 pounds, because I’m not sure what I was prior to yesterday, but I think it may have been as high has 110.5, but yesterday I was 108.5 and today I was 107.5. Of course, it would come up higher on the doctor’s scales, but that is because I wear a boot for an unrelated injury that weighs about 2 pounds, and my clothes add about two pounds. However, the doctors never like it when I drop weight, even though I kind of like it (I’m 5’4 – 5’5 if it matters and my height percentile is much higher than my weight percentile, whereas until I lost weight last year they were always the same). I’m about the 60th – 62nd percentile for height and about 26th percentile for weight, I believe. I’m afraid, however that they will want to look at everything, and I have a few scratches on my arms (self-inflicted and noticeably so) so I’m not sure what they would think of that. Also, could a concussion push a person into depression? I have struggled for a long time in cycle with depression, but had been doing better. However, since the accident, I have become quite depressed, feeling even more worthless, ugly, and hopeless than usual. I’ve always had problems with this, and constantly too, since 6th grade. I was bullied throughout all of elementary school, and in middle school I got in trouble with the guidance counselor a lot, so that is why I have had problems with me. I’m not sure if I was already falling back into my depression before the accident or if the pain from the accident pushed me over the edge and into depression again. The last time I struggled with depression (last school year) I came close to self-harm a few times, but this is the first time I have actually done it, with this latest cycle of depression. Just today, I scratched the word “UGLY” into my arm (this is where I have been doing it). I didn’t really have problems until Monday, when I went back to school and seemed to be ultra-sensitive to what my friends were saying, and drawing conclusions that my not have been true. The scratches are not that bad, like I didn’t break any skin with any of them and they fade fast. Also, when this happens (the depression), I sometimes wait until I cannot take the hunger anymore before I eat for the first time, but after that eat when I am hungry (and alone, for some reason I don’t like eating when people are around some days, or not out of the house). So, for the past three days, I have not been eating until around 4 pm, yesterday until close to 5 pm. No, I do not think of myself as fat, only extremely ugly. I always feel ugly because I have really low self-esteem. My mom says I have not really been the same since the accident, quieter than usual (and immediately I was quieter according to her), and I agree. I just have not felt like the same person at times during the day. I know my emotional status has changed drastically, and my focus in school has nearl

You should probably see a doctor if you’re having severe mood changes. It may be the result of more than a “minor concussion”. I took Athletic Med, and that sounds a lot more serious than that. For sure tell your parents and go to the hospital as soon as possible.

Utilizing a secret movie or what is commonly known as a self help video as a tool that could aid increase your ability to attract wealth is becoming much more acceptable in today’s society. But there are and always have been skeptics, who think it is all simply a big con trick. Probably the best way to find out if it genuinely works or not, is to try it once.

You could find a series of self-help videos, audio tapes and books on the internet, in book stores and from medical practitioners on virtually any subject to do with your health and well-being. The major aim of all these aids is to help you improve the overall opinion of yourself and how you interact with the world around you. The ability to attract wealth refers not only to financial wealth, but to attract wealth to your emotional and physical well-being.

You will be able to either use self help aids in the privacy and comfort of your house or the group situations. But it is a big plus for individuals who lead busy lives or who may not want their friends and colleagues to know that they have issues that need some self-help, if they can utilize them in privacy. You choose the time, place and frequency with which you use them. But you are often recommended to set aside an amount of time on a regular basis to achieve the best results.

These tapes and videos are often aimed at a specific area in life that is preventing you from achieving your full potential: such as low self-esteem, low self confidence, overcoming irrational or illogical fears, helping you to quit smoking, or to reduce weight etc. The self-help aid sends a subliminal message to your mind instructing your unconscious mind to improve for instance your self confidence, by identifying your good points and continually reinforcing your positive points.

Critics think that self help tapes are a way to brain wash you, but they are in fact not. They do provide subtle messages, that with regular use are intended to change the way you see and think, from a negative to a positive, but the change can only occur if you want it to. You remain in full control and conscious throughout a self-help session, but the key is to relax and allow the subliminal message to enter your subconscious mind.

Even if the secret movie or the audio tape doesn’t appear to be a useful way for you to achieve immediate financial wealth, if you improve your self esteem and the way you approach and deal with life your financial gains would come.
